So you're probably here because like me, you suffer with Eczema....
After many years researching and using myself as a human guinea-pig, I no longer suffer.
Here's what I did step by step to eliminate flare ups.
1. Remove toxins from your house
Easier said than done, trust me I know.
Once you go down the rabbit hole, you realise that nearly everything shop-bought is toxic and harmful. All those synthetic fragrances, carcinogenic!
First things first, your skin....
- Laundry Detergent and Fabric softener
Your clothes and your bedding are coming into contact with your skin every day. Many of the ingredients in standard store bought are incredibly irritating for sensitive skin.
Faith in Nature have a great product range, or it's really easy to make it yourself!
2. Stop using toxic cosmetics
Unfortunately, probably everything you're putting on your skin from moisturisers to make-up and shampoo to perfume is packed full or really nasty and harmful chemicals.
It took me a while to make these swaps and now the smell of fragrances genuinely feels like I'm being poisoned. Funny what you get used to...
It only takes 6 seconds for products to enter your blood-stream, so bear this in mind next time you are engulfed by a cloud of cologne.
Wideye have some lush options that don't slowly kill you ;-)
3. Find skincare products that help heal the issues at core, not masking it.
Ever heard of steroid withdrawal?
It's nasty!
Unfortunately we live in a society that masks problems with pills and quick fixes rather than getting to the root cause of the issues that started it.
Herbs are healing - Not woo-woo medicine, but the original: Dandelion & Burdock, Self-Heal, Oat Straw, Nettle and Sea Buckthorn.
4. Remove Stress
Easier said than done I know, but this is the main trigger.
Now I've resolved points 1-3, I can sense when I start to get stressed and "get the itch." This means I immediately try and take precautions to remove myself from the situation and calm my nervous system.
- Exercise
- Meditation
- Nature
5. Healthy Diet
Again, I know it's easier said than done when all the toxic stuff is specifically designed to get you addicted... I could carry on with the health system "conspiracy theories" here, but that's for another day ;-)
If you can't find it naturally growing or alive in nature, don't eat it - it's not food!
The same goes for your skincare!
Nature provides everything that we need, as we too, are nature!
Natural Remedies for Eczema were our past and will be our future again!
